Transferpoints

Persons who have actively participated in one of the I’MI seminars, projects and/or exchanges can achieve the status of I’MI Transferpoint and can act on behalf of I’MI Netherlands. Central to every action are the core values of I’MI:

- Awareness
- (Political) Participation
- Integration
- Solidarity

Also, an I’MI Transferpoint:

- is an active I’MI member
- embraces and promotes democratic principles on all levels
- embraces and promotes (the awareness of) Human Rights
- make NO distinction between members of diverse ethnic or cultural groups

Which ACTIONS can I’MI Transferpoints take?

- Organize forums in co-operation with other (political) parties and/or migrant organizations
- Set up ‘one-issue networks’ in co-operation with politically trained migrants (observers)
- Organize meetings with migrant youngsters as well as migrant women, if local political meetings with migrants are not in conformity with the democratic values of I’MI
- Approach local media in order to generate more attention for the needs of migrant youngsters and women, as well as for the European Elections
- Make proposals for exchange programs
- Contact and stimulate interviews with the media, in co-operation with other I’MI observers as well as partner organizations

The above mentioned possibilities are not necessarily solitary actions, but may well be executed and supported in collaboration with (I’MI) colleagues, migrant organizations and other parties and, of course, the I’MI Headquarters.

Every year I’MI Transferpoints submit a report describing activities, networks and achievements in the area of I’MI interests .

How do you become an I’MI Transferpoint?

The small print
- In principle, I’MI HQ may disagree with and discontinue a proposed project if it is not in agreement with I’MI goals and values.
- Financial issues (like grants, subsidies, sponsorship, etc.) will be discussed and agreed upon by I’MI HQ before projects are implemented. Projects can only start when sufficient financial support is available and when confirmed and signed by I’MI Headquarters.
- I’MI Transferpoints will help in realizing priorities developed during I’MI seminars and projects.
- In a country with more than one I’MI Transferpoint, a national Transferpoint Coordinator will be elected.
- If there’s a tie in a decision making process, the senior I’MI Transferpoint has the deciding vote (based on I’MI membership ID number).
- In case of disagreement or different points of view I’MI HQ has to be consulted. If the disagreement continues, I’MI HQ will take the final decision.
- I’MI Headquarters will be consulted when Transferpoints require cooperation with institutions or individual participants outside of their own country.
- I’MI Transferpoints will submit an annual (financial) report in January.
